**Sorry that this is a tad late, however I never saw that the weeks were out of order on the website**
I talked with my Mom about the most important technology in her job currently and how she learned to use it. She said that the most important piece of technology is the desktop computer and everything that comes with it (i.e. software, servers, connections, etc.). I wasn't surprised by this as she runs a legal analysis firm that relies on the ability to communicate with various firms around the country. She first learned the basics of computers and typing in college when she took a class on typing and the essential building blocks of computer software. In addition to the in-class learning experiences, she has had consistent practice of her computer skills in every job she has had since college. The computer is essential to her job and has made the working environment exponentially more productive and fluid. Overall, without the computer, she believes that her job wouldn't be possible, as it not only serves as the communication hub, but the data processing unit and central analysis tool. Technology has evolved so much since her day's in college and she truly appreciates the development and the ease of use that it brings to her job.

I think that part of what made this assignment so easy was that our parents' generation grew up without computers and had to learn how to use them as time went on. It's incredible how different the job market is today as a result of the changes to each position as a result of widespread, quickly advancing technology.
