This short film talks about the change in society during the 60's due to the outbreak of drug and addictions. It's useful to students of our modern information infrastructure because we are able to see why society has such a negative view on drugs. There are many arguments today on whether marijuana should be legalized or not, which is why this video is very relevant. Specialists provide information on certain classes of drugs, such as depressants and stimulants, to show why they have become such an addicting and negative effect on our society. There is obviously more accurate information today about these substances, but the principle is very similar.
We are able to see the real problem of drugs on of all ages. People became addicted to many different types of drugs as young as an elementary school student. At that age, their brains are no where close to being fully developed, and the use of these drugs set them back drastically from having a successful future. Society saw the use of drugs as rebellious and quite illegal. I see it that society now doesn't want to risks associated with drugs due to all the tragedies it led to in the 60's. Drugs contributed to the information society as the focus changed from being successful to doing whatever we wanted as the awareness of drugs and addiction resulted from this time period.
